That is not my problem. I cannot find a way to type a backslash, either on the question mark key or on the symbol. I have tried to go to the control panel and change the settings but my settings are not the same as the instructions. I am getting an accented E rather than a? I can't find the US keyboard icon on the bottom of my screen and I am in Outlook not notebook. When I try the control shift it doesn't work. I opened Word and it seems fine. My keyboard is stuck on English Canada multi-lingual and I can't change it no matter what I do!

What can I do, please. I would love to erase the multi-lingual and get along with American English, but when I try the remove button, my other language, that I need, is also erased.. In other words, the change-settings options don't work for me. I should also add, perhaps, that I'm on a British laptop. Thank you!. I don't know what else I can add. Check that your keyboard layout is recognized correctly and make sure you have French installed in your language settings. Is this a French or English windows? Qwerty or azerty keyboard?

It appears that you have your keyboard setup for French or some European language. Right click on the keyboard icon and left click Settings. If you cannot locate the keyboard icon you can get at this through the control panel.

Go to Regional and Language control panel. Select the keyboards and languages tab and click the change keyboards button. This takes you to the language settings described in step 2 above.
