Fullmetal alchemist how does it end
Following the chaos of Father's defeat, Ed and Al's father Hoenheim is finally allowed to come to the end of his own journey.
Although Ed refuses to allow Hoenheim to sacrifice himself to bring Al back, Hoenheim still dies, having finally vanquished the force that was giving him his unnaturally long life. Father's rise to power was largely because of Hoenheim, and Hoenheim obviously feels enormous guilt over what he's caused. While Hoenheim was not able to defeat Father on his own, Father's death allows Hoenheim to die peacefully at the site of his wife Trisha's grave.
As he passes, Hoenheim says he's grateful that he knew Trisha and his children, and that he's sorry for all of the pain that he caused them. The show's penultimate episode closes with Hoenheim's death, in part because it suggests that Father's demise may really be the beginning of a new era. Although Ed loses his ability to perform alchemy, he doesn't lose interest in the subject completely.
Two years after the events of the main series, Al and Ed agree to travel east and west, respectively, hoping to learn more about alchemy and eventually combine their research. The project succeeded, but the chimera committed suicide shortly after by starving itself.
Shou goes on to do the same thing to Nina and his dog by fusing them, and fans were left horrified by the gruesome results. As a Chimera After being alchemically fused with the family dog, Alexander, by her father, Shou Tucker, Nina inhabits the body of a dog-like beast.
This chimera has the ability to speak, as did the chimera Tucker created from his wife. The story, emotions, character development, action, English voice actors, openings and endings, background music, twists, etc… were simply amazing. By the time Tenma left, the two walked hand in hand like father and daughter. In Brotherhood , Trisha is more of a plot device to get the Fullmetal Alchemist story rolling. In the same vein, the Elric brothers develop stronger bonds with Maes Hughes and his family than they do in Brotherhood , and even help deliver the man's child.
After appearing early in the story, Rose is more important in the original anime, as Dante plans to use the girl as a brand new vessel. Conversely, some Fullmetal Alchemist characters enjoy more significant roles in Brotherhood , most notably Riza, whose connection to Mustang is explored in more detail, and Tim Marcoh, who is killed by Gluttony in the first anime, but enjoys a much bigger role in Brotherhood. Rather than being more prominent in one series than the other, some characters' stories are equally vital but markedly different.
The man responsible for killing Winry's parents is revealed to be Roy Mustang in the Fullmetal Alchemist anime, but Scar committed the crime in Brotherhood. Meanwhile, Brotherhood sees Mustang go blind as a result of entering the Gate of Truth and a completely revamped story in invented for Scar.
This shady character's first anime backstory involves an unnamed alchemist brother who replaces Scar's arm with a philosopher's stone. Redeeming himself somewhat, Scar dies to protect Alphonse.
Brotherhood changes this, and Scar's powers instead come from combining alchemy with alkahestry. Scar also survives until the end of the story, helping overcome the Homunculi, and his personality is generally more focused.
Further altered characters include Shou Tucker, who becomes a chimera in the anime and tries to bring back his daughter Nina, who he previously merged with the family dog. Scar puts paid to any such redemption story in Brotherhood by redecorating the room with Tucker's innards. Because the Fullmetal Alchemist manga was still ongoing when the first anime aired, there are many additions to Arakawa's story that wouldn't make it into the series and vice versa. The TV-original material adds the Tringham brothers to the mix - a couple of young alchemists posing as Edward and Alphonse to access state resources and finish their father's research.
Although this sub-plot doesn't feature in Brotherhood , it does derive from a spin-off novel. The first anime series also replaces Hughes with the decidedly less friendly Frank Archer. Elements of Arakawa's manga that featured solely in Brotherhood include the Briggs soldiers and the country of Drachma, as well as the Xing country and everyone associated with it. The ice alchemist Isaac McDougal is also exclusive to Brotherhood , but isn't from the original manga.
Given that the two Fullmetal Alchemist anime series take such contrasting paths, it's no surprise that they conclude in entirely different ways. Marcoh used it during this time. The Elrics meet Dr. With Marcoh's aid, they battle with Scar, who they discover is an Alchemist. Marcoh returns to his hometown, where he reveals that he has notes in Central City related to the Philosopher's Stone.
Two mysterious individuals, called Lust and Gluttony , appear and extort this information and kill Dr. Marcoh has also given this information to Edward and Alphonse, who search for the research notes in Central City , where Marcoh told them it would be. The Elrics discover that live human beings are the key ingredient in creating the Philosopher's Stone and that inmates who were said to have been put to death were, in fact, moved to a secret laboratory called Laboratory Number Five and used to create Philosopher's Stone.
They realize that in order for these inmates to have been sacrificed, there must be those higher in command who must be involved. During a battle in Lab No. Following the events at Lab No. The brothers' teacher, Izumi Curtis, seeks out Ed and Al and sends them to an island in her hometown called Yock Island , where they meet a boy who is a talented enough Alchemist to transmute his own body.
Believed to be a Homunculus, the military imprisons him. Izumi Curtis attempts to rescue him but finds herself in a five-way fight over the boy. Envy rescues the boy, who becomes known as Wrath. Wrath wants Ed's arm and leg to make himself completely human. Edward and Alphonse are sent to learn from a new Alchemy teacher, who is Izumi's own teacher, named Dante. Afterward, Winry Rockbell a childhood friend , Ed and Al start to travel to Ishbal and help some refugees.
Winry then returns to Central City where she decides with a friend to investigate the death of Lieutenant Colonel Hughes promoted in death to Brigadier General Hughes. Solf Kimblee , a leader in the Ishbal civil war, is reinstated in the military, much to Colonel Mustang, Alphonse, and Edward's chagrin.
In the city of Lior , riots have broken out, and Scar is there as well. Edward confronts Scar and battles him. Before they get far, however, they are interrupted by Lust and Gluttony.
