If you got the motor and the money go for it, supercharge away, but if you got more money, buy more motor. If you were to put that same supercharger on a , you would be well on your way to your horse range.
Proving someone wrong isnt always the way to go, sure you can get that horse but your gonna have to realize you can only push that motor so much til your at your limit, in my opinion buy that supercharger since it can be used on more than that but DONT buy heads for that The chamber and valve size will hurt any bigger displacement motor if you ever decide to swap, good luck.
Monte Man. I had a in my monte, but the thing just had nothing going for it performance wise. I'm not saying that it can't be done, but if you are going to do all that work, You might as well get a , and do all the work on it while it's out of the car, that way when your done you can just drop it in a drive. Thats what I did anywayz If it were my truck I would probobly get out the plans for a bigger engine It Can Be Done!!!!
A T is your answer my friend!!! And of course the full RPM performer package all the way to exhaust by edelbrock. Cheaply done, makes breakfast out of the ricers, yet still gives the displacement freaks a good run.

If it's hurting, the blower will kill it quick and you'll get to build the engine you really want after that also with the blower on top!
I would make sure the ignition system is up to par- fresh cap, rotor, plugs maybe a heat range or two colder , wires and a new coil if you're not sure how old yours is just a stock replacement. Honestly, you don't need an ignition amplifier box on this motor- it's not going to rev that high and you're not going to be pushing too much boost at it anyway. Some stuff I'd do if it was me, but isn't strictly necessary to get it up and running: I would change the carb's step-up spring to one that opens at 7", as opposed to the 5" orange spring that comes stock.
And figure you'll be putting premium in the tank as soon as the blower goes on. Read the rest of the article and you'll have everything you need for a successful install.
