Can you keep pandas as pets

Understandably, these laws were passed to prevent humans from causing harm to giant pandas and other endangered animals. Guess what? It worked. There has been a remarkable decrease in the number of people who cause harm to the giant pandas since then. If these laws have not been put in the Chinese government constitution, what would have been the fate of these innocent-looking, adorable pandas? Your guess is as good as mine. Yes, the famous Chinese actor Jackie Chan owns two pandas.

Sounds interesting? On the 89th Academy Awards red carpet in , Jackie Chan walked on the red carpet carrying two adorable pandas on both hands. As you would expect, all eyes were on him. Who would not be, right?

Due to his contributions toward protecting pandas, Chan was appointed the panda ambassador at that time.

His giant panda pets have become an important part of his life as he takes them wherever he goes. Also, one major reason Chan carries the panda everywhere is to encourage people to prevent the animals from going into extinction. Amazing, right? The very reason why he was an exception to the rule is because of his heroic deeds.

He rescued the two pandas from the Sichuan earthquake that occurred in and raised them. This circumstance gave him the chance to adopt the cute creatures. I want you to know that the cost of a giant panda is very expensive. So, you need to think twice before renting one from China. Since the Chinese government owns almost all the giant pandas in the world, most zoo owners rent the pandas from them. They have super sharp claws and they also have a very strong bite.

As mentioned above all pandas in the world are owned by China. That means that each Zoo has to rent it from the Chinese government. They will typically do so for 10 years and the contract will cost almost 1 million dollars!

Let You know they will primarily eat bamboo. Even if they gave it to you for free. The red panda kind of looks like the big black-and-white Pandas. They are a lot smaller and they are more like a Raccoon. They are protected by the Washington convention from being kept as pets. It has been estimated that there are around red pandas left in the world.

Around 80 of those are kept in Zoos. Or get your hands on one for that matter. As mentioned above, all the Pandas are owned by the Chinese Government and they are not permitting anyone to buy or sell Pandas. Apparently, you can have a Panda bear as pets if you are rich and famous. Jackie Chan has adopted two giant Panda bears back in A lot of people think pandas are cute little bears you can hug and carry around like a dog.

They are around 5 feet long cm and 3 feet tall 90 cm to the shoulder. The males can weigh up to around pounds kilograms. The Pandas belong to the bear family so they are more likely to behave like a brown bear than a pet dog.

Remember that we are talking a pounds kilograms bear. They can bite really hard and they have to in order to crush the bamboo sticks with their bare teeth.

They spend most of their waking hours eating bamboo. A full-grown panda can buy but almost pounds of force. Actually, the mother Panda will often give birth to two little panda twins.

That happens with one out of two pregnancies. And when that happens the mother will take a good look at the two baby pandas and select the strongest baby panda. The weakest baby will die of starvation because the mother will only feed the strongest baby. The mother is simply not able to feed the baby pandas so she will favorite the strongest one. They have a tiny thumb and five fingers. That makes a total of 6 fingers. They are perfectly fitted to grab bamboo which is the main job for its mighty paws.

Basically, a red panda would make an awful pet! Why so I hear you ask? It may be innocent, however the more shares and views these videos get, the more demand there is for people to take them from the wild. Instead, you can help us to help them by visiting our red pandas, Tilly and Nam Pang.
