Why is manhunt 2 rated ao
Some people like gore. Didn't like the original Manhunt? Fine then. I did. I loved it and I've really been looking forward to the sequel. It was one of the reasons I bought a Wii. I like cute too! But pardon me if I just want a little unabashed violence, a little balls in a game every once and a while. Mean, malicious and sweaty! While you're all out playing space marine in fluorescent green armor shooting each other in the fanny with guns like the Needler oooh scandal!
Yea go ahead. Take my karma! Share twitter facebook Re: Score: 2 , Insightful by Philosopher-Geek writes: "ignoring the homoerotic undertones of the whole gay pageant you've for months been pining away for" And there are no homo-erotic undertones of wanting to grab some other man's balls?
And nothing phallic about a gun? I'll be sure to tell Freud that. You should really look into some sort of therapy because you're coming across as a 14 year old with an anger management problem rather than a mature person who enjoyed a game. Re: Score: 1 by morari writes: It has Brian Cox Yeah, but it would have been so much better had they placed him in a climatic sequence with the entirety of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida playing in the background.
Couldn't they sell the AO rated one online? They already have the AO-rated game done, and just because Nintendo doesn't allow AO rated games on their systems doesn't mean that it can't be published. The Action Replay, and the cheat devices before it have never been Nintendo-approved, but they are created and sold, anyway. Or they could just release it in the Netherlands and include and English language option..
Re: Score: 1 by vimh42 writes: "I think that they ought to sell the AO-rated Manhunt 2 online and have the M-rated one in stores. However it is my understanding that Microsoft and Nintendo do not allow AO games.
MS and Nintendo have to sign the game as neither consoles will run unsigned code without being hacked or being a developer console. So basically the developers are out of luck and can only release a M rated version. Murder simulator!!!

Follow Slashdot on LinkedIn. Via Kotaku , IGN had the chance to play both the AO- and M-rated versions of Manhunt 2, and they now have a piece up pointing out the differences in the re-rated game. If you've been curious about what is in that warez copy floating around online , they'll piece it together for you.
Be forewarned: the stuff that got cut out is pretty gross. Manhunt 2's storyline is made more believable with realistic voice acting, atmospheric camera angles and pans, and moody transitional effects. There's even some comedy thrown in for good measure. A guard on the other side opens a peephole and sees the decapitated head staring back at him.

Yeah, I betting that is why Reggie was actively courting manhunt 2 to improve the library of mature titles on the system. Come on, "hardcore gamers" want Nintendo not to be "kiddy" and you can either saw someone's head off, choke them, or snap their neck on the Wii, or you can press A. Which would that crowd pick?
It was "Nintendo's too kiddy," now people bitch about the games being TOO graphic? They can't get a break from either side of the fence. Funny like I'm a clown? Score: 2. It might have something to do with fear of lawsuits, but I am willing to bet it is fear of something else. Like boycotts, and a public image that they don't want associated with their product.
This is the same reason why most major retailers will not sell AO rated games. They likely don't fear lawsuits, but they do fear all the parents in the area deciding that that store sells things they think completely inappropriate, and thus don't shop there.
Kinda like why Block buster and NetFlix don't have Pron. Not that gross So it has gore In the movie business, to get a rating of R for a previously rated NC17 you replace sex scenes with murder scenes. However, our system affords publishers the opportunity to modify and resubmit games that receive the AO rating in light of the business ramifications that such a rating currently presents. The first "Manhunt," released in , put the player in control of a death-row inmate named James Earl Cash who was forced to commit grisly murders at the behest of a cackling mastermind and snuff-film creator named the Director.
Kills could be committed with nail guns and baseball bats. Created by Rockstar North, the team behind the "Grand Theft Auto" console games, "Manhunt" was criticized for its violence but hailed by some game critics for its development of stealth gameplay and innovative use of sound the Director's voice could be set to only be heard through a headset a gamer wore while playing the game. For "Manhunt 2," signs pointed to the title being both less and more extreme than the first.
Gone from press previews were mentions of snuff films and Directors. Everyone who plays this needs to be in the right state of mind. They also need their parents to be aware. I have a copy and I know who its for. Not 6 yr olds its too complex for them. Its for 15 yr olds and up. I have 2 nieces and one nephew among a bunch of toddler cousins.
This is too complex to handle compared to other games for Wii. Go for Mario Galaxy for little kids who can read and play games alot. Thats much more suitable.
Adult Written by solodim September 27, Video games don't cause violence Change my mind. Adult Written by Epicfaxguy September 11, Adult Written by reviewerofvideogames May 15, Even the worst video game ever created in the entire world this video game is really worse compared to Manhunt. If people asked me to play this game for money I'd usually say "NO! Adult Written by Teak June 24, Really violent Its a good game but has a-lot of violence.
Adult Written by Fanboy2 March 26, WTF This game is for adults containing people getting hunted and killed by your character. Adult Written by Geobil October 17, Its shocking mature and brutal This game its defintetly not for kids people die in the most brutal ways you can imagine and its sometimes very shocking and The main charecter is not a good role model he is a killer a maniac that wont doubt about killing people don't buy this for your kids.
Adult Written by Baja April 8, Not as disturbing as its predecessor, but equally if not more violent. The premise is relatively the same as Manhunt. You're being hunted down, and you need to kill everyone to get through it all. This time though, you're an amnesiac with an alter ego in you, one that was created to turn you into a killing machine. Executions are once again imitable, and are far gorier. I own the uncensored PC version, and let me tell you that the executions are very graphic.
They can be performed through the use of quick time events with the mouse, but it's equally as brutal without that setting enabled.
One chapter in particular is much more disturbing then the others, Sexual Deviants. This club is divided into two sections, the strip club and the fetish dungeon.
