Why does nba 2k13 freeze

I thought it was a bad disc and got another one. But the issue remains. It a tad annoying to wait 10 minutes between screens. I am also getting this freezing at menu screen. Seems to be a problem connecting to the 2K server. As soon as I disconnect from the Internet it un freezes! This game has serious issues, and I can't believe four months down the line from when this post was started and it still continues!!!!

Then go to my team and sign in. Should work on there. All signs indicate something in the latest online data update for the PS3 users is corrupted, so when the game tries to load it, it freezes. Staying offline alleviates this issue. Ronnie2K has tweeted that he made the dev team aware of the issue mind you, it's 8am right now in California where the VC offices are located , so I'm sure they'll look into fixing that ASAP.

Load the game again, it'll say there's a an update to the game, update the game and it should work again. That's how i fixed mine. It doesn't work all the time for me.
