Why does acrobat freeze
First, exit the Office program that you're having issues with when the PDFMaker add-in is loaded, and then use one of the following methods to start Registry Editor. From the Start screen, type CMD. In the results pane, swipe down on Command Prompt to reveal the charm bar, then select Run as administrator on the charm bar. If you are using a mouse, right-click the Command Prompt to reveal the charm bar. I have the same issues with a Windows 8. I have I have uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed and rebooted. I open the app and as soon as I click in the app window it freezes and I have to close it with the Task Manager.
I am runnig the same version of this app on a windows 10 system with no issues so far anyway. Both machines are 64bit. Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. Note: Please turn on the security aftertesting to avoid any security risks. If it still doesn't work, create a new test user profile with full admin rights on Win 8. I had the same problem in Windows 8. Doing both is what worked for me.
